Sustainability and academic Background

With the global resources overused, it is essential to promote sustainability in industries generally and build some corporations with other sides to make a mind improvement on people.

As being said, sustainable development is not only just green and long-term concept of ecological and environmental protection strategy but also it is more directly related to the future development of human beings and the rational use of resources through specific implementation in various industries.

Especially in the tourism industry because it involves more industry and resource usage than others.

The study from Hilal (2010) has explored the importance of sustainability in tourism that could promote and strengthen the connections with other industry development and improve tourists' awareness of environmental protection. The other industry is mainly related to how renewable energy can be applied with some specific facilities gradually as the main energy to meet the resource demand of tourism including the research of some local organizations. Tourists get inspired by these constructions with new renewable energy so that they could enhance their mind to protect the environment and build a higher awareness of sustainable development. (Fatima, 2019).

It is suggested that people’s behaviors are influenced by the surrounding environment features, and there exists a relationship between individuals’ actions and environments. Therefore, to raise the environmental awareness of people is based on the premise that the environment is natural and clean stated by Wang (2018). Another research indicates that some people tend to protect the environment by reprimanding those who're attempting to destroy it or others clean up as much as they can, also they would follow the positive action taken by the outside environment based on the arousal theory built by Harrison (2015).

Field Gap

Whereas there has not been a field where people students if students consider sustainability and they would like to consider it when they travel and making an accommodation decision partially influenced by it. Then, we decide to explore this gap for a tiny academic contribution by trying to build connections between students' choices on hotels and sustainability
